A poem inspired by a car ride during an evening out.<\/h2>

Occasionally, inspiration can spring up unexpectedly in mundane situations, such as a car ride. The idea for this poem came to me during then, and I built upon it to aid in my understanding that inspiration isn\u2019t always a brilliant torch. It can also be the small and simple flashes that give ideas life.<\/p>

Fire-in-Water at Dusk<\/h3>

With the sun low on the horizon<\/p>

the trees blanket the area<\/p>

in a primordial mist.<\/p>

Evening flame peeking<\/p>

behind the inky-black silhouettes<\/p>

of swaying pines and leafy crowns.<\/p>

Fiery wisps dance on the gentle crests,<\/p>

a flicker of inspiration to my mind\u2019s eye,<\/p>

deep in the wave-filled cauldron.<\/p>

Your lofty flame<\/p>

reflecting on midday waters,<\/p>

a contrasting wonder<\/p>

To the slumbering potential<\/p>

of the dark half of the year,<\/p>

of fecund dreams and plans.<\/p>

It is not dormancy<\/p>

that dwells in the depths<\/p>

of Your cauldron<\/p>

But thriving darkness,<\/p>

lush growth, and<\/p>

bursting creativity.<\/p>

Seeing Your inspiration<\/p>

coiled in the quiet gloom<\/p>

lights the wick of my mental fire.<\/p>

Bringing forth the sacred<\/p>

from the mundane,<\/p>
